HOW WE HANDLE DATA

Account Security, Data and Your Control

We apply layered account-security practices and a clear data-handling policy so your personal and financial information stays protected. Here is what that looks like in practice across six key areas.

Data We Collect

We collect the information needed to verify your identity, process UPI and Paytm transactions, and maintain your account. We do not collect data beyond what is operationally or legally required to run your account.

Cookie Policy

Cookies on playup are used for session management, fraud detection, and performance analytics. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie preferences panel available in your account settings at any time.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for the period required by applicable law and our internal audit obligations. Once the retention period expires, personal data is deleted or anonymised in line with our documented schedule.

Account Security

Your account is protected by two-factor authentication, session timeout controls, and device-recognition alerts. Any login from an unrecognised device triggers an email notification to the address on your account.

Your Access Rights

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold, ask us to correct inaccurate records, or request deletion where no legal obligation requires us to retain it. Submit requests via the legal email channel.

Third-Party Sharing

We share data with payment processors like PhonePe and Paytm only to the extent needed to complete your transaction. We do not sell your personal data to third-party marketers under any circumstances.

Common Questions About Our Legal Terms

These answers address the policy questions we hear most often from account holders in India. If your question isn't covered here, contact us through the email or chat channels listed above.

The current version is always published in the help centre under the Legal section. Each document shows a version date so you can confirm you are reading the most recently updated text before acting on it.

Send a data-access request to our legal email address. Include your registered email and account ID. We aim to provide your data package within 30 days, in a format that is readable and complete.

Yes, where no legal retention obligation applies, you can request deletion. We will confirm which data can be deleted immediately and which must be retained under applicable law, then process the deletion within 30 days.

We share transaction data only with the payment processor completing your UPI, Paytm, or PhonePe transaction. That sharing is limited to what is technically required and governed by the processor's own security standards.

When you close your account, we retain data for the period required by law and our audit obligations. After that period, the data is deleted or anonymised. You can request a timeline specific to your account via our legal email.

We send a notice to the email address registered to your account before any material change takes effect. The updated document is also published in the help centre with a revised version date clearly displayed at the top.

Start with our legal email channel so we can review your case and provide a formal response. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may escalate to the relevant data-protection authority applicable in your region.
